Johnston County Centers:
Where are we?
Serving Johnston County, NC Since 1972
All 3 of our multi-purpose centers of active aging are now "Centers of Excellence"!
With additional guidance from the Johnston County Health Department, we have made the decision to close our centers for active aging through the end of APRIL, and will reevaluate the schedule at that time. Effective Tuesday, March 17th, the Benson, Clayton, and Harrison Centers for Active Aging, as well as the Kenly, Princeton, and Smithfield Senior Dining Centers, are now CLOSED to participants and the public as a precaution of COVID-19. Home-delivered meals are still being sent out at this time, and volunteer drivers are still allowed to deliver meals. Recommendations from the Johnston County Health Department are that those 65 and older stay at home as much as possible.
We want to make clear that there have been NO reports of any staff, volunteers, participants, clients or visitors contracting the virus, testing positive or having had any exposure to the virus at this time. Our top priority is to do everything we can to help protect the health and safety of all older adults, their families and our community by limiting contact with others at our locations.
Currently our centers and office are closed to the public until further notice.
Please check our Facebook pages and website for more information on our schedules. For more information on the Coronavirus, please visit the Centers for Disease Control website at www.cdc.gov, or call the Johnston County COVID-19 hotline at 919-989-5400.
