Nutritional Support
Home Delivered Meals
and
Congregational Meals (below)
We provide a nutritious lunch to eligible persons who are homebound and age 60+. To qualify, a person must be physically or mentally unable to prepare or otherwise obtain meals for themselves and have no responsible person willing or able to provide this service. An in-home assessment by a trained staff member is required to determine client eligibility.
This program allows recipients to remain in their own home continuing to live a life of independence and dignity. This service may be used short term to assist a person when just returning from the hospital, or, more long term when needed. Currently, we are only able to deliver within a five mile radius of a local senior activity center. Our senior activity centers are located in Smithfield, Selma, Clayton, Benson, Princeton and Kenly.
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays and inclement weather. Meals are delivered by volunteers who bring more than food. They observe the home setting to ensure our client's safety and well-being. They also bring a warm smile and words of encouragement. For some recipients, this may be the only contact they have all day.

We are always looking for volunteers to deliver meals.
If you can spare an hour a day once a week, once a month, or more often, please give us a call at (919) 934-6066.
Congregate Meals (Public Community Dining)
Served Monday - Friday at Benson, Clayton, Kenly, Princeton, Selma, and Smithfield.
Congregate meals are served daily, Monday through Friday, at each of our centers. Serving time is usually around 11:30, so please call the center of your choice for serving time, and to reserve your meal for the following day. Please notify the center before 12 noon in order to reserve your meal in time for the following day.
Each meal is nutritionally balanced and healthy, following North Carolina's state guidelines for older adults. Seniors must be 60 years of age or older to participate, and you must remain in the center to enjoy your meal. We cannot allow 'take out' for sanitation reasons. A variety of beverages are also provided.
